This book is dedicated to
Professor Joseph Needham (1900-1995),
author of volumes of Science and Civilization in China
and the first Honorary President
of the Canadian College for Chinese Studies

 

and

to David Robert Morrison (1914-1990), a true friend of China and a member of the Canada-China Friendship Association in Victoria BC.  He visited China twice and supported her in good times and in bad.
